Exploration Place preserving the legacy left behind by one of its members

A well known Prince George resident is being remembered for his leadership while chair of the exploration place.

Tom Dielissen was apart of the board for 25 years, spending 20 of those as chair. In that time he took the museum from six staff to more than 30, and expanded the 11,000 square feet in 1990 and add an additional 12,000 square feet to the building.

Dielissen wasn’t just known for his work at the Exploration Place. Back in 2016, he was awarded with the Sovereigns Medal for Volunteers for his committed time to the PG Public Library, UNBC Athletics, St. John’s Ambulance, the PG Film Commission, Theatre North West, and many more.

Dielisson passed away January 25th and a service will be held to celebrate his life Saturday February 10th, at Saviour’s Lutheran Church at 4pm. Following the service there will be a reception at The Exploration Place.
