Crowds Of People Expected If PG Host 2020 Brier

Tourism could see a boom if Prince George is lucky to host the 2020 Brier.

Prince George has hosted similar events in the past, such as the Canada Winter Games and the Scotties tournament in 2015, but never an event of this size.

“An event like this brings huge publicity.” Say Tourism PG Erica Hummel. “This is a bigger news event than the Canada Winter Games or even the Para-Nordic games, this will be coverage across Canada, we’ll have extreme audiences all over the country looking at our community.”

Hummel added this is event would have a big impact on PG’s hosting reputation along with putting the city on the map.

The 2020 Brier is expected to be held February 28th to March 9th.
