Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Todd Stone made one last trek to Northern BC stating why he should be the BC Liberals new party leader.
The former Transportation Minister visited the Kask Taproom in Prince George last night speaking to northern residents about their biggest concerns going forward.

Earlier this week, Stone participated in the final debate in Vancouver and came away very pleased with his performance.
“I was able to deliver my message, I was able to stay very calm and cool and project a sense of leadership – that’s ultimately what this is all about, who is going to be best positioned to be the leader and the next premier of British Columbia.”
Stone claims to have a simple formula on what the party’s plan of attack should be going forward.
“We need to elect a leader who is tough and strong and ready to take down John Horgan on day one and defeat the NDP. We need a leader who understands that the world has changed and we shouldn’t be afraid of that, we should embrace it and be courageous. Thirdly, we need to open up this party and invite people back in.”
“This is about the future, this about the renewal and this is about change. I believe I am that future, that renewal, and that change,” added Stone.
If the Liberals wish to reclaim power in Victoria, he believes a philosophical shift needs to occur.
“It’s not 2013 anymore, it’s not 2001 if this party is courageous in embracing the fact that the world is changing all around us and that this party can build on its strong track record but also embrace renewal then we are going to be more revitalized and rejuvenated than ever before and with me as the leader I will be John Horgan’s worst nightmare.”

The precipitation across much of the Northern BC is the region is often ignored and their voices are far from heard based on where they live in the province.
That is something Stone would like to change if elected.
“I get it, I understand the sense of frustration that people in the interior and the north often feel along with the disconnectedness from Victoria. I am very excited to be back in Prince George – to meet with local residents so I understand what they’re concerns are and what they would like to see us focus on as a party.”
BC Liberal Leadership hopeful Michael Lee will also be in Prince George tonight, 5PM to 7PM at the Coast Inn of the North.
The leadership election is set for February 3rd.
