Seven northern breweries to be featured at Kiwanis AleFest

The fourth annual Kiwanis AleFest will be in Prince George next week.

The event has become a staple in the city, with a multitude of breweries getting the chance to show off their best brew.

Seven of the 16 featured breweries come from Northern BC, two of which are not yet open.

Breweries will represent Prince George, Prince Rupert, Quesnel, Terrace, and Valemount; with another PG brewery and one in Smithers to open soon.

It’s not all about the booze though, as spokesperson Eric Ball explains.

“The whole weekend is about coming out and having a good time but just remember that what we’re all doing here is raising money for great charities in and around Prince George.”

Ball says one of the major beneficiaries of the AleFest is Ronald McDonald House of BC.

He also named Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George, Two Rivers Gallery, and the Prince George Public Library as places they support.

Kiwanis AleFest runs January 26th and 27th.
