Road crews with Operation Red Nose will be out in full force this weekend as they pick up party-goers who will be celebrating the New Year.
The designated driver service expects the phone lines to be ringing off the hook.
“With only 25 road teams we will probably stay within city limits like we have in previous years and we know we’re going to be busy but we just ask party-goers to be a little more patient,” says Andrea Johnson, Spokesperson.
“Usually what happens on New Year’s Eve is that once clock strike midnight, the phones start ringing. We’re so busy between midnight and four.”
Service for tonight and Saturday will be from 9 PM to 3 AM with 18 to 20 road crews taking part.
Road crews will be out until 4 AM on New Year’s Eve.
On New Year’s Eve in 2016, 24 teams delivered 171 safe rides home, while in 2015, 35 teams provided 209 rides.
