PG teachers say they haven't been paid for first day back

The teachers’ strike may be over, but a dispute remains.

Teachers & District Association President Tina Cousins says teachers in District 57 haven’t been paid for their first day of work, September 19th, though it was mutually understood that they would be;

“Teachers are upset about it, they have spent a lot of time preparing their classrooms, that’s why I’m hopeful. In our district, we have a good relationship, where we can talk about these things and I’m hopeful we can move forward from there.”

Other districts, such as Coquitlam say the same thing, though their employer says language over the issue varies from district to district.

Cousins says they are having meetings over the issue Wednesday and next week, as well.
