Highway 16 west of Prince George now open to single lane alternating traffic following last night’s accident.
The RCMP has a simple message for those travelling between Prince George and Vanderhoof today.
“On Highway 16 between Tapping Road and Clucluz Lake we will be traffic controlling and retrieving from an accident yesterday and people should be going slow since the highway is treacherous.”

The reopening of Highway 16 west of Prince George has been pushed back to 8 AM following an accident in the Beaverly area Thursday night.
Two other accidents also took place between Prince George and Vanderhoof yesterday.
Highway 16 was the scene of a multi-vehicle accident near the Chilako River Bridge that claimed a life.
Two drivers were transported to the hospital with undetermined injuries.
Police continue to investigate and that stretch of road has since been re-opened.
The highway was also the scene of an incident in Cluculz Lake just east of Vanderhoof.

The RCMP are reminding drivers to exercise caution following three accidents on Thursday.
Highway 16 was closed in both directions by the Chilako River Bridge following a multi-vehicle accident that claimed a life.
The other two drivers were transported to the hospital with undetermined injuries.
Police continue to investigate and according to Drive BC, the road is expected to re-open this morning.
Highway 16 was also the scene of an incident in Cluculz Lake just east of Vanderhoof.
The road was temporarily closed in both directions but has since reopened to traffic.
A third accident is also tying up the highway, it took place just west of Prince George in the Beaverly area.
The road should reopen by 8 AM.
