Prince George has won the title “Number One Relay for Life” in Canada.
After raising $560,000 this season for the Canadian Cancer Society, PG took the national title and team lad Helen Owen says it’s thanks to hundreds of hours of work put in by volunteers.
“This community just loves Relay for Life and people are happy to be involved,” she says. “Having said that, we also are trying to be bigger and better for 2015, so we’ve always got room for more volunteers if people want to get involved.”
Thanks to an additional $40,000 recently pledged, the total is expected to climb to $600,000.
