Operation Red Nose is asking the public if they could give a helping hand for New Years Eve.
Ride demands on News Years Eve is the highest between the hours of 12:30am and 3am.
“As we prepare for our final weekend of 2017, we only have 20 volunteer teams lined up for New Year’s Eve,” said Andrea Johnson, Operation Red Nose spokesperson. “We’d love to have at least double that to keep up with the huge demand we expect from party-goers.”
In previous years Operation Red Nose has delivered as many as 273 safe rides home in 2010 with the help of 35 road teams and in 2016 173 rides were given by a team of 24.
So far this season 234 volunteers have helped deliver 606 safe rides home after operating for seven nights.
Those who are interested in volunteering can submit their application here.
