Christmas came early for a pair of Prince George Spruce Kings.
Ethan de Jong and Kyle Johnson helped Team Canada West capture the gold medal on Saturday at the World Junior A Challenge as they skated to a 5-1 win over the United States in Truro, Nova Scotia.
De Jong picked up an assist in the first period following a goal by Angus Crookshank putting Team Canada West up 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Johnson collected a helper on Canada West’s third goal potted by Corey Andonovski.
Victoria Grizzlies netminder Zach Rose picked up the 35-save victory for Team Canada West who were outshot 36-19 overall.
