A new face emerges in the race for City Council

Yet another candidate is now in the running for city council.

Jillian Merrick, has officially brought her name forward by filing her papers earlier this week.

The young candidate hopes to see Prince George as a more diverse, and transportation savvy city, and she explained her reasoning for joining the race:

“In all of the elections that come up, I find the discussion is very partisan and a lot of the time as someone who doesn’t identify with one particular party or another, I feel really left out of the conversation. There is not really a way to become involved. So i thought municipal politics would be a great way for someone who is an independent to become involved”

Election night will take place on November the 15th.
