With Christmas parties in full swing, road crews with Operation Red Nose will be swept off their feet this weekend.
The designated driver service will still need more bodies once they return from the Christmas Break.
“We’re still really in need of volunteers for New Year’s Eve and that will be our busiest night of the year and we just encourage people to apply online at www.ornpg.ca as soon as possible to make sure they get their criminal record check and application approved,” says Andrea Johnson, Spokesperson.
Over 360 safe rides home have been provided this year with more on the way.
“Right now we have about 20 to 25 teams for each night ready to go and since we are expecting a busy weekend we should be able to meet the demand for rides that we expect.”
The designated driver service usually delivers between 102 and 148 rides each night during this weekend.
