Kid’s in the pediatric ward at the University Hospital of Northern BC received a Christmas surprise.
Santa Claus stopped by to spread holiday joy and hand out gifts to the children at the ward.
11-year-old Laurel Taylor met Santa and told him what she wanted.
“I really want to get another Friends Lego set, because I’m a fan of those. I like them a lot.”
There’s a lot of organization that goes into this event, said Child Life Specialist Sandra Wyatt.
“How many children are we going to have on this particular day who knows, so we leave it until the day before and then we buy a few extra presents for those who may come. So yes there is a lot of planning, but it’s a lot of fun.”
Sandra added this event lifts kids spirits up and gives them another thing to think about as well as tell their brothers or sisters Santa visited them first.
