The Blackburn Community Association are the first beneficiaries of a local legacy fund.
RE/MAX Centre City Realty owner Brent Marshall made the announcement at Monday’s Blackburn all-wheels park open house.
“We will fund parks like this, or something similar, in every area of [Prince George],” explains Marshall.
“We’re going to do five of these parks, one every 18 to 24 months and depending on the area, they can come to us and let us know what they need.”
Marshall listed the Hart, College Heights, and the downtown area as places they already plan to impact over the next decade or so.

The inaugural donation is the first $120,000 for the Blackburn all-wheel park over the next two years.
The open house provided residents with an opportunity to become more knowledgeable of the plan for the project, which as Blackburn Community Association Board Member, Michelle Kenny explains, is a very important one for the area.
“We have nothing out here, we have no sidewalks, half the area doesn’t have streetlights, we don’t have any parks,” Kenny says.
“This is a wonderful area for kids to come, hang out, stay out of trouble, for parents to come out and meet their friends; for families just to enjoy the outdoors.”
The park will go in the space between the Blackburn Community Centre and the Blackburn Elementary School.
The goal is to have at least part of the park constructed, and usable, by June 2018.
