The third day of the Festival of Trees in Prince George kicked off with a special guest and breakfast.
The Santa Breakfast ran until noon today and featured Father Christmas himself.
For many kids, it was the first chance this year to meet Santa and snap a picture with him and Mrs. Clause.
“It’s been great, Santa’s greeted everyone at the door as they’ve come in and the kids are so excited to see him,” says Festival Coordinator Allison McCray.
“Then the kids get to have a little visit with him and Mrs. Clause.
McCray says it’s great for the kids, but also important to not forget the bigger picture of Festival of Trees.
“It’s a great event for the city, it’s become a family tradition for many families as it’s our 24th year we’ve put on the Festival of Trees,” McCray says.
“It’s also a great fundraiser for Spirit of the North, raising funds for healthcare in northern BC.”
The festivities for the day don’t stop there, as Family Day activities run from 12:00pm to 4:00pm and Civic Light Up is on from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.
