Fighting wind, hail and snow, a large contingent from the Prince George Airport, City Hall and Canada Winter Games unveiled a mural at YXS today.
Prince George’s own Greg Gislason won a contest earlier this year to paint the mural on the outside of the arrivals building.
“Well it’s a story of northern BC in a mural. That was the concept of the contest that I entered. I did my best, and it came from the heart. It took me one month to mock it up and four months to paint it in my warehouse. I had some help from volunteers, I could have done it myself, but I would have had to eliminate a few items I’m sure”
The ceremony was marked by a blessing from the Lheidli T’enneh and a hail storm.
