ORIGINAL STORY:

The City of Prince George has officially closed the polls in a referendum to decide the fate of two major facilities.

The Main Fire Hall station on 7th Avenue and Dominion Street, a structure standing for the last six decades, is being considered for a move to Massey Drive, next door to the YMCA of Northern BC.

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old Four Seasons Leisure Pool could be moving across the street in the parking lot next to the Days Inn.

If residents vote ‘Yes’ to the new sites, it’ll cost a combined total more than $45 million to construct; $15 million for Fire Hall #1, and $35 million for the pool.

We’ll continue to update this page with more information as votes come in the next few hours.
