Instructors from a region in East Africa spent a week at the College of New Caledonia to take part in improving their teaching skills.
In the short amount of time the Tanzanians were able to learn how Canada creates it curriculum, approaches students, and the different disciplines we use.
International Project Planner Romana Pasca says the instructors were able to learn a lot from their time at the college.
“I think they absorbed everything we discussed with them. They really like it they feel like they are part of the world now. It’s amazing, they are very septive and the entire school, the Vocational Training Centre, their entire school is engaged in the project.”
In 2016, CNC started a three year Capacity Building Project in Tanzania that focuses on developing Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics Programs that aligns with the mining industry requirements of the African country.
This partnership benefits CNC by getting the colleges name out into the world says Pasca
“It’s very much sending our faculty and staff there. It’s exposing them to the environment there seeing how other people even do things and just sharing knowledge.”
CNC’s International Educational department and its Trades Department will make a trip to Tanzania to see the ongoing development of the project.
