The Healthier You Expo has been going strong for over a decade and is showing no signs of slowing down as it steps inside the College of New Caledonia for the first time.
The Expo connects over 6,000 people per year to ideas and conversations about wellness in the community.
It also features guest speakers and exhibitors who introduce people to information on how to improve mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
“We certainly recognize that health outcomes in the North tend to be not as positive as they are in some other parts of the province,” explains Prince George – Valemount MLA Shirley Bond, who opened the expo.
“We want to make sure that people are being given choices, ideas, and information about how they can live a healthier lifestyle.”

The event is so popular, the Province contributed $12,000 into the 11th Healthier You to help with the expo.
“I am happy to join community members in supporting this event, which focuses on improving health outcomes in the North and providing people of all ages with the education and tools needed to actively participate in their own health,” says Health Minister Adrian Dix.
This is the first time CNC is hosting Healthier You, Bond says it’s the perfect venue.
“I think [CNC], as an organization that offers great healthcare programs, really emphasizes their training programs in the health sector.”
Northern Health and the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society of Prince George help as well.
Other activities include a healthy cooking demonstration, a tour of the Northern Health Connections bus, blood pressure testing, and the first free public clinic flu shots of the season.
