International tourism into British Columbia between now and this time last year is up more than two percent, according to Statistics Canada.
In August of this year, there have been 18,499 more visitors than August 2016, an increase of 2.3%.
As for the year-to-date numbers, it’s an increase of 2.8%.
This number has resulted in 113,473 more people visiting B.C. than the year prior.

Canada as a whole, however, did not make the cut for notable tourism increases worldwide.
Mexico topped both the list for an increase during August compared to last year (up 18.3%) and year-to-date arrivals (25.4%).
