Evan DeBrouwer had to be sharp Friday night.
Stopping 39 of 42 shots, the netminder gave Prince George (7-4-2-2) just enough to tie Powell River (8-3-1-1), by a score of 3-3 (2OT).
Ethan de Jong earned second star honours with a goal 23 seconds into the game for his fifth of the season.
The teams then traded goals in the second period, which saw the Spruce Kings take a 2-1 lead into the final 20 minutes.
There, the Kings tied the game before a Kyle Johnson power-play goal vaulted PG back ahead, 3-2.
Powell River didn’t take long getting it back though, as Ben Berard notched a power-play marker of his own 22 seconds later.
That would be it in regulation, the Spruce Kings finding themselves heading into overtime despite being out-shot 36-18.
The first overtime was a weak one for PG, unable to find any offence and failing to register a shot.
Prince George found themselves on the man advantage in the second overtime period, but Powell River goalie, Mitch Adamyk, came up big as the final horn sounded, signalling the end of the game.
Johnson finished with two points; PG is now tied with Langley at the top of the Mainland division.
Chong Min Lee scored the other goal for PG.
Next up for the Spruce Kings on their three-game island road trip is Alberni Valley tonight at 7PM.
