Another season has come and gone for the Little Prince Steam Engine at The Exploration Place.
Monday marks the last day until next spring, with free rides all day.
“Despite the weather, which is a little rainy, we’re running the train for free and a lot of people are taking advantage of that which is awesome,” says Conductor Christopher Larsen.

It is the shortest real working rail-road in North America and has been running in Prince George as a ride since the 1980’s.
On top of that, the engine is 105 years old and the rest of the train was either built by or kept up by students at the College of New Caledonia or inmates who help volunteers.
“CNC made the tender, which has wood and water in it, and they made the travel cars and all the fabricating for that,” explains Engineer Frank Vanderlans.
“The boys in the correction centre did all the wood-work inside the cars and helped the volunteers lay the track around the park.”
The Little Prince will be back and running starting May Long Weekend next year.
