Starting Wednesday morning, local firefighters will continue to conduct training sessions throughout October at the Prince George Airport.
This is in conjunction as well with the Airport Authority’s Operations team in order to get their proper certification.
YXS Spokesperson Lindsay Cotter took several phone calls last week from concerned residents and passengers.
“People can expect to see black smoke in the area, so please don’t panic; everything is in a controlled area and there is no threat to the public.”
She explains why these sessions are taking place.
“We definitely try and hold these before snow starts falling. The snow removal at the airport is integral; our guys are often tied up with snow removal.”
The sessions are also scheduled for October 11th and 27th, all from 7AM to 11AM.
