Are you still trying to figure what to do after high school?
If so, PSI BC is hosting it’s free post-secondary information night next Thursday at UNBC’s Bentley Centre.
Administrative Coordinator, Josh Keller hopes students and parents accomplish one thing when they attend.
“For students to find the right place, the right fit for them as an individual student – just because it’s a big institution doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the right institution and then of course cost is the other one and everybody is asking about what does it cost and what’s involved in those costs.”
Some of the attending institutions include Simon Fraser University, UBC, Trinity Western, UNBC and CNC.
Are we seeing more people attend this event because they want to continue their studies or are they undecided?
“I think it is a combination of both. I think more and more students when they get to Grade 11 or 12 they understand that graduating high school is not an end it’s merely the next step in the process – you have to go on to some form of post-secondary,” added Keller.
A good chunk of student might already have a good idea on what they want to do, but pinning down the best route to take can be a bit of challenge.
“There’s a lot of things to consider, not only do they have a lot of choices but they may see a lot of differences between programs and cost. Part of what we are trying to do is to share with students and parents the types of questions they should be asking and the kind of things they should be considering when looking at the broad range of options.”
The session will be held on October 5 at 7 pm.
