The local First Nations band will be well represented at this years Canada Winter Games as the Lheidli T’enneh officially signed a protocol agreement today.
Community and Communications Manager Alyson Gourley-Cramer tells us just how important this opportunity has been for the games:
“We want to insure that the games are a reflective of the region and the city, and insure that their culture is representative at these games, we have a great opportunity to share the Northern Story with all of Canada”
She also points out that this is the first time in the history of the Canada Winter Games that a First Nations group has been announced as the official host nation.
