The City of Prince George hosted a free BBQ and concert at Canada Games Plaza Saturday night.
The party was a way for the city and Council to say ‘Thank You’ to all the PG residents and volunteers who stepped up and helped with wildfire evacuees.
“What would be enough? The city has done a lot of work, the volunteers have been great, and I have heard only wonderful things from those who were affected.” says Councillor Albert Koehler. “This is a great idea to have this event and just say ‘thank you’ to everybody who was involved.”

The event was headlined by multiple Juno award-winning Canadian rock group Glass Tiger with special guest Barney Bentall. DJ Ant kicked off the party.
“This summer, we did something extraordinary. We welcomed more than 10,000 people into our community.” says Mayor Lyn Hall. “On behalf of Council: thank you Prince George.”
