The first Prince George Multiple Myeloma March took place today at the Otway Nordic Ski Hills.
The march is an effort to fund research for multiple myeloma, a rare form of cancer that currently has no cure.
Cyndi Logan is a Quesnel resident currently living with myeloma. She had a personal goal to raise $1000, she has already more than tripled that with over $3600. A total of over $11,000 has been raised between Logan and event organizer Anthony Everett.
“The fact that people are coming here today for a disease that right now has no cure,” Logan explains. “It gives me hope that this kind of money will actually help find a cure and benefit people like me with new therapies, it’s really exciting.”
Prince George mayor Lyn Hall and Prince George – Valemount MLA Shirley Bond were both in attendance.
