The Cops for Cancer Tour de North is about halfway through their 850km journey from Prince George to Prince Rupert.
Before leaving Smithers this morning, Constable Chris Eaman said that all the support they’ve gotten on the road so far has been great;
“They’ve been fantastic. They’re pulling over, let us go through and have almost the whole road. They’re honking and waving. People are coming out from their houses and waving at us out in the rural areas at the end of their driveways and everything.”
Today’s 75 kilometre leg will end in Hazelton with an appearance at the Bulkey Credit Union. Riders should arrive in Prince Rupert on Thursday.
Chris said they are on schedule and making great time;
“Hungry Hill wasn’t very fun, but going down it on the other side was. The fastest I got was 75.2 km/hr, I had to actually slow down because I was catching the cars in front on me”
