The sun looks like it will be shining for Sundays Terry Fox Run.
Prince George is the site of a special moment on the ladder to Terry’s Marathon of Hope. The 17 km Prince George Labour Day run was Terry’s first organized race after his amputation and Terry’s brother Fred Fox says that day was huge for him;
“When I do my presentations I talk about when Terry went to Prince George.” Said Fred “It wasn’t important to Terry to finish first or in the top ten. All that mattered to him was that he finished what he started. And that he crossed the finish line. He finished last. But he finished and that was all that mattered to him. He realized that he could do this and in a few months in the new year he could run a marathon a day.”
This year’s event starts at 10am, with in person registration starting at 9am. It’s being held at the Community Foundation Park downtown. Registration is free and all donation go to the Terry Fox Foundation.
