Volunteers supporting the Prince George Food Bank will be rounding up donations this September.
The BC Thanksgiving food drive is now in its 4th year here in Prince George and Mark Ryan with the BCTFD says the food goal this year is higher than ever:
“So we raised, the first year I think we raised something like five thousand pounds of food, the next year I think was up around six or seven thousand pounds and last year was up to twelve thousand pounds, just the more we sort of train up our volunteer resources and get people comfortable with how this works, the better it gets”
Ryan says they have been dropping off grocery bags at doorsteps with instructions inside. There is no obligation but they will return to pick up the bags full or not on this weekend.
