Prince George Evacuee update : Friday, July 21

The number of wildfire evacuees in Prince George has inched closer to 10,000.

Over 9,300 evacuees have registered at the emergency reception centre at CNC.

The figure includes 7,559 adults and 1,748 children.

The Ritchie Brothers site on Highway 16 west of Prince George became a military depot yesterday, as 225 soldiers and over 60 vehicles spent an evening in Prince George on their way to the Cariboo.

The Edmonton-based soldiers are from the 3rd Canadian Division and Joint Task Force West.
