The five nominees for “Citizen of the Year” were announced Thursday.
They are: Norma Allison, Andrew Burton, Penny Jones, Brent Marshall, and Roy Spooner.
President Ray Noonin (Pictured) with the Prince George Community Foundation says the five candidates have qualities beyond those who have over three years of philanthropic volunteer experience .
“[Also] how they have given back to the community, that giving back can be in many ways, many forms,” he says. “It usually involves a lot of time, a lot of resources, and really just someone who wants to make Prince George a better place.”
The Citizen of the Year will be announced at the celebration gala on October 17th at the Coast Inn of the North.
