The Red Cross will receive $60,000 from White Spot and Triple O’s, thanks to your lunch orders.
Last Thursday, 115 BC and Alberta restaurants put aside 2 dollars from every burger and combo sold to give to the evacuees.
This situation hits close to home for Marketing VP Cathy Tostenson.
“I really want these fires to get put out. We have a son and he’s actually a firefighter in Williams Lake and we hear first hand on what’s happening on the ground and we need to get these fires under control and get people back into their homes.”
Two dollars from every burger and combo sold last Thursday will go to the evacuees.
It’s important that all of us help where we can.
“It is just so tragic what has happened and is just wonderful that not only White Spot and Triple O’s and BC Ferries but all of the different companies are banding together and helping give back,” Tostenson says.
The money will buy blankets and cots and cover evacuee financial assistance and family reunification.
