Jury deliberations delayed in Legebokoff trial

Final instructions to the jury at the Cody Legebokoff trial continues Wednesday.

Justice Glen Parrett reviewed much of the evidence that was brought before the jury over the past few months, but delayed the jury’s deliberations to finish up his directions in the morning.

He spoke on some of the inconsistent testimony that was heard, while reviewing DNA of the four women Legebokoff is accused of murdering found on his clothes, truck, apartment, and tools,

Much of his directions stressed that the jury had to be sure that Legebokoff was the sole killer in any of the four murders he is accused of, saying evidence has to be undeniable that there is a pattern between all three and that his acts were premeditated and sexually motivated.

If the jury comes to that conclusion, they could find Legebokoff guilty of up-to four counts of first degree murder, though his Defence stresses there is more to disprove a pattern in the killings than there is evidence connecting them.

Parrett says this will end up being one of the most difficult decisions they jury will ever make in their lives.
