If you’re driving by the airport Wednesday morning, you’ll likely see black smoke hovering above YXS.
Prince George Airport Authority operations workers will be doing their annual aircraft fire training between 7 and 9 AM. These fires are held in supervised, self-contained training facilities.
If you happen to be nearby, Airport Authority Spokesperson Lindsay Cotter asks you not to panic.
“It’s all a controlled burn so if you see black smoke in the area it poses no threat to the public or surrounding area.”
Wednesday will be the first of a few training dates this summer; the other dates will be announced later.
