Pine Centre Mall announced via Facebook all the stores inside the mall are closed for today but all the exterior businesses are open.

An update has been provided by the Prince George RCMP on this morning’s shooting at the Pine Centre Mall.
Corporal Craig Douglass says things are slowly coming back to normal. “The investigation is still ongoing and we do have portions of the mall blocked off to gather evidence and assist with the investigation. We do anticipate that the mall or businesses within the mall will be open up in the next little bit.”
Douglass adds it will be up to the management of the Pine Centre Mall to determine which stores open up.
Traffic has been gradually allowed back into the area.

The Prince George RCMP are currently investigating an incident at the Pine Centre Mall.
According to police, it took place just after 4 am Tuesday morning.
Corporal Craig Douglass says it’s weapons related. “We attended and discovered that a vehicle had smashed into one of the entry points to the mall. A security guard was on duty and is believed to have been shot at but uninjured, the lone suspect fled on foot shortly after and police are actively looking for that person but we don’t believe the public is in jeopardy.”
A full description of the vehicle the alleged suspect was in has also been released. “The vehicle involved is a dually flat deck, pickup truck with 4 doors and is white in color and has not been reported stolen at this point,” says Douglass.
Police continue to search for the suspect.
The mall will remain closed to the public.
The Pine Centre’s Facebook page states the closure is due to an attempted robbery.
The local RCMP has not confirmed this.
