The RCMP says three lives were lost in the Quesnel accident that saw a pickup cross the centre line and collide with an SUV.
2 Kelowna and 1 New Hazelton resident were pronounced deceased on the scene.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but alcohol is NOT believed to be a factor.
There was very dense fog and limited visibility at the time of the collision

Highway 97 is closed due to a serious head-on collision.
Police say the highway is closed at Sales road 1 km south of Quesnel, though a detour is now available at Redbluff Rd. to Maple Dr. after the highway was closed in both directions this morning.
Police are assessing the scene.
No word yet on when the road will re-open.
