Jeremy Gervais of Prince George is the only player on the BC champion-Cariboo Cougars named to the 2016-17 Major Midget League All-Star Team.
Gervais was the top scoring defenceman in the BCMML, with 49 points (15G, 34A) in 37 games.
The 18-year-old has committed to the BCHL’s Nanaimo Clippers for the 2017-18 season.

Former Prince George Spruce King Jujhar Khaira has signed a two-year contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers.
Media reports indicate his one-way contract has a cap hit of $675,000 per season.
Khaira had one goal in 10 games for the Oilers in 2016-17, averaging 9:15 of ice time per contest.
The 22-year-old was selected by Edmonton in the third round of the 2012 draft.
Khaira played 112 games in two seasons with the Spruce Kings (2010-11 and 11-12) and notched a total of 121 points, including 39 goals.
