RCMP re-arrest man for property-related crimes

A new-to-Prince George man will be in court today in relation to property-related crimes around the city.

Originally from Terrace, Phillip Thompson Cooper is charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property stemming from a May 19th incident. Around 5 AM the morning of, Prince George RCMP were called to Gorse Street after receiving reports of a man trying to enter parked cars. Officers found and arrested the 51-year-old inside a car and believe he had stolen items on him.

He was later released and RCMP put out another arrest warrant on June 2nd.

Around 7 PM on Wednesday, June 14th, Cooper was found walking near Victoria and 17th. Officers say he fled and was found and arrested nearby.

The RCMP believe additional charges are likely.
