Boston Maxwell is the latest Prince George Cougars prospect to ink a deal.
The team announced today that it signed its fourth-round (84th overall) 2017 WHL Bantam Draft pick to a Standard WHL Player Agreement.
In 30 games with the Saskatoon Stallions (SBAAHL) last year, the 6’0”, 177-pound forward recorded 22 goals, 21 assists, and 96 penalty minutes. He also had a goal in two playoff games.
The Saskatoon-native also played in three games as an under-ager with the SMAAHL’s Saskatoon Contacts, a team he will join full-time next season.

“Boston Maxwell is a power forward who can take over games with his physicality and goal-scoring abilities,” said Cougars GM Todd Harkins. “He’ll be a fan favorite because of his relentless work ethic and energy that he brings every time he takes the ice.”
Harkins adds, “His style of game is going to compliment our other 2017 draftees very nicely in the years to come. He’s got an incredibly bright future in this game and we’re ecstatic to welcome Boston and his family to the Prince George Cougars organization.”

Maxwell is the second 2017 draft pick the Cougars have signed since the May 4th draft. First-rounder (18th overall) Tyson Phare signed his Standard WHL Player Agreement two weeks ago.
The 2002-born Maxwell can play up to five games as an under-ager next season and is eligible to join the team full-time in 2018-19. While he waits for the season to begin, Maxwell has been invited to Saskatchewan’s U-16 Summer Provincial Camp next month.
