The BC Conservative Party has elected Vanderhoof native Dan Brooks as its new leader. The guide outfitter turned politician received 62 percent of the vote at this weekend’s leadership convention in Richmond. Brooks says he plans on doing “great things.”
Brooks beat Lower Mainlander Rick Peterson to take over from outgoing leader John Cummins. He was unable to get a seat in the Nechako Lakes riding in last year’s election getting only 13% of the popular vote.
