BC Conservative leader Dan Brooks has the answer to the ongoing dispute between the province and teacher’s federation.
“This is a political game to the BC Liberals and Premier Clark are fighting against the Teachers’ Federation,” Brooks says. “It’s unnecessary , it’s un-productive for the rest of British Columbians, and I believe that they shouldn’t be warring this political battle at the expense of our students.”
Brooks, a Vanderhoof native announced his plan Wednesday morning.
It includes a 1.5% annual pay increase over five years, a $2500 signing bonus, & expanding the Learning and Improvement Fund to $150 Million to address class size and composition.
He says he is supportive of mediation and is hopeful Vince Ready can help negotiate a plan, regardless of whether his suggestions are taken seriously.
