With a high of 31 forecast for Wednesday, we might meet or break some records.
On this day in 1990, Prince George got up to 31.9 degrees and according to Andre Besson of Environment Canada, we’ve been exceeding daytime highs this week and that trend could continue until Friday.
However, for those not liking the dry heat, Besson says some relief is on the way.
“There will be some embedded disturbances that will affect the area giving more precipitation,” he says. “Therefore, not in the short-term but it’s quite possible that late August or Early September we’ll experience another warm spell.”
He says temperatures are expected to dip down to the low 20s for the rest of August with cloud and rain in the forecast, though he notes the precipitation in Prince George won’t be as intense as what the lower mainland is in for.
An air quality advisory is also in place in Prince George, which you can learn more about HERE.
