Prince George skunked in Small Business BC Awards Top-5

There won’t be a Prince George representative at the 2017 Small Business BC Awards.

Seven local companies had advanced to the top-10 in their respective categories, however, none advanced to the top-5.

City Economic Development Manager Melissa Barcellos says she’s surprised that none made it further, but believes all the nominees can hold their heads high.

“I know that our businesses are top notch and regardless of whether they won that competition, I’m proud to have them in Prince George and I know locals here really enjoy visiting all of those businesses.”

The seven top-10 finalists were:

Benchmark Automotive – Best Apprentice Training
Northern Electric – Best Apprentice Training
Game Quest – Best Company
Northern Lights Estate Winery – Best Company
Play Grounds Cafe – Best Concept
Prince George Airport Authority – Best Marketer
Serengeti Northern BC-International & Specialty Grocery Store – Best International Trade

Game Quest was one of two Prince George businesses in last year’s top-5. The other was Shiraz Cafe and Resturant, which won the Premier’s People’s Choice award.
