The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball suffered another late meltdown on the road Saturday coughing up a 13-point halftime lead in a 67-64 loss to the Manitoba Bisons.
Maria Mongomo was the star of the game once again for the Timberwolves leading the way with 23 points, including a 9 for 15 showing on field goals.
Rebecca Potter netted 17 points in the victory for the Bisons.
Manitoba doubled UNBC in bench points 26-13.
The Lady Timberwolves slip to 6-10 while Manitoba is 2-14.
On the men’s side, UNBC dropped a 77-68 decision to Manitoba despite a 19 point effort from Rhys Elliott.
Justus Allen lit up the Timberwolves recording 19 points for the Bisons, including a 7 for 11 showing on field goals.
The UNBC men have lost eight straight to sit at 4-12 with games left.
Both UNBC teams travel to Vancouver next weekend to play the UBC Thunderbirds.
