The biggest crowd to watch a Prince George Cougars home game in nearly 10 years went home disappointed as the Moose Jaw Warriors edged the Cats 2-1.
Every ticket for the game on 50-50 mega jackpot night was sold, and the 5,896 fans saw all of the scoring come in a 3:47 span midway through the second period.
The record 50-50 was worth a total of $123,851.
Moose Jaw jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Spencer Bast and captain Brett Howden before Colby McAuley tallied for Prince George.
Zach Sawchenko made 34 saves for the Warriors who were outshot 35-22, including 14-6 in the third.
The Moose Jaw power-play was 1-for-4 while P.G. was 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
The loss ended the Cougars five game win streak.
Prince George has a nine-point lead over Kamloops in the B.C. Division and a two-point lead over Everett in the Western Conference.
The Blazers beat Portland 4-3 in a shootout and the Silvertips blanked Seattle 1-0 in other WHL action on Friday.
The (33-13-2) Cougars visit Kamloops tonight (Saturday) to begin a five-game road trip.
