Drug trafficking investigation leads Prince George RCMP to make eight arrests

Prince George RCMP arrested 8 people during a drug trafficking investigation last week.

At about 10:30 pm on Friday, the Street Crew Unit stopped a vehicle on 15th Avenue near Nicholson Street. Two men were arrested and a quantity of cocaine was seized.

As a result of this traffic stop, the Unit executed a search warrant on a residence on Moffat Street early on Saturday morning. Police arrested two men and four women and seized significant quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and prescription pills, as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia and cash.

A 40 year old man and a 32 year old woman have been remanded in custody and will likely appear in Provincial Court later today.

A 31 year old woman was released on a Promise to Appear for court on March 15, and a 65 year old man was released without charge but may be called to appear in court at a later date.

The four other individuals were released without charge.

The search warrant was supported by information provided to the RCMP by concerned citizens.
