Another busy weekend for the Prince George RCMP as they enforced the rules of the road. The Municipal Traffic Services section conducted a series of roving patrols throughout the city.
They handed out a total of 36 violations on Friday and Saturday nights. Three of those went to impaired drivers including one immediate roadside prohibition and two 24-hour suspensions for driving under the influence of drugs.
Officers also caught 15 speeders and handed out four tickets for intersection related violations. One person was caught driving without a license. Another had their vehicle impounded for a week for a stunting violation.
The RCMP are reminding drivers that officers will be out in full force during the holiday season. They encourage you to drive cautiously, follow the rules of the road and, if you’re going to enjoy a beverage or two, please find a safe ride home. Operation Red Nose is offering free, safe rides through the New Years weekend.
