BC Ambulance Services collecting donations for St. Vincent De Paul Society

BC Ambulance services are teaming up with the St. Vincent De Paul Society for a 10th straight year this holiday season.

This weekend, they’re collecting dried goods and non-perishable food items at the Save-On-Foods location along the Hart Highway.

Primary-care paramedic Shawn Morash says the ‘Hunger Fight’ campaign started last week and have already seen positive results.

“We collected just over 150 banana boxes between the two stores of dried goods and a fair amount of dollars that we converted into gift cards; it was really well received.”

He also says the two parties always look to match and beat the previous year’s total.

“It really all depends on the generosity of the people and we just take what the people can give us. We’re just glad that this city comes through every year.”

BC Ambulance service employees will be collecting donations today and tomorrow from 11AM – 5PM.
