Our 6th annual Community Christmas Fundraiser is off to a great start. In our first day, more than $6,100 and dozens of boxes of non-perishable food and bag of toys came through our doors.
We’ll be opening our doors again at 6 am tomorrow to continue accepting donations for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
“We have seen lots of people come in being very generous,” says spokesperson Bernie Goold. “Cash donations are just wonderful because they let us provide the things we’re not getting.”
However, our total for today is slightly lower than where we were at this time last year but Goold isn’t worried.
“I have great, great faith and I know Prince George comes through every time, that by this time tomorrow night we’ll be singing their prices for the amount of stuff we have to move out of here for the Christmas hampers.”
We’re open until 6 pm tomorrow evening to accept your donations.
